20141011_A110002 The Twin Orbs (Sat 11 Oct)

Thirroul Beach, Illawarra, NSW

At some point I need to make a more concerted effort to publish all of the PADs that I have taken but not processed. I also need to catch up on quite a few of my favourite galleries. However today is not that day; I've replied to a couple of P-mails tonight, made one or two comments, and have processed only two images from this week this being the second of those.

Yet another reason for the shortness of time is that I'm trying to do something about my seemingly unshiftable weight. I'm hardly a sumo wrestler but am way over what I should be. As a consequence I have tried to make sure that whenever I don't go to work I take my favourite toy here down to the beach and spend a bit of time kicking it up and down. After a few attempts I determined that soccer balls and beaches really don't mix especially when you mistime a kick and the ball makes a bee line for the water. Consequently I have found some parks near some of the local beaches and have been doing my exercise there rather than on the sand. In this case the proximity of the ocean and the rising Sun provided a photo opportunity into the bargain.

The contrails of a jet appearing immediately above the ball were not planned as part of the shot. You can't really plan much when you're lying prone on wet grass just trying to get the shot so that you can get back up again.

A certainly Labrador would have great fun with this. I can guarantee you wouldn't have got this great shot if he was around!
