20140304_3042662 Departing Bondi Junction (Tue 04 Mar)

Bondi Junction Railway Station, NSW

Generally I have had my doubts about the E-P1 being able to handle more complex shots. However I must admit that it gave me the exact result that I was looking for on this one.

The Tangara trains date back to the late 80s and early 90s. The sides of them are very reflective, or at least the ones that haven't been plastered over with yet more bloody advertising are. As I saw one pulling out a couple of days prior to this I noticed how well the station sign was reflected on the side of the train. I therefore saw this shot long before I took it; the station itself frozen, the train a motion blur but with the fixed reflection along its side.

The only question in my mind was whether the Olympus would be able to deliver. If I do say so myself, I think it did in this case; this shot is pretty much exactly as I saw it in my mind a day or two earlier.

Great work, and of course the best camera is the one with you. I like the Oly series and keep thinking of the OM-1.

I think it came out perfectly. The motion blur with the contrast of the sharp foreground and letters are excellent together. V
