This was taken in the first building, looking up at the second level from the first one. In the frame after this one another member of our party cropped up in the frame. "How the hell did you get up there?" I asked. And obviously, it wasn't this way. Instead I had to go back to the stairs at the far end, climb to the next floor and then step across a gap in the landing where the floorboards had been completely taken out. If you failed to cross the gap cleanly, there was a several metre "drop of doom" to the next floor if you're lucky, or the ground floor if you went crashing through the landing below which also had holes in it.
I came back down to this end of the building and began to climb the stairs that you see here. I got within a few treads of the top when I noticed the handrail (which, you'll notice is on the inside of the building rather than the side where there is a sheer two-storey drop) starting to vibrate noticeably and loosely at the top. I felt confident that even if the thing collapsed I could ride it down without sustaining too much bodily damage, but I was less certain about the effect on the Olympus. Given that I haven't even paid the credit card bill for it yet (that's due next week) I certainly was not planning to put that in harm's way so I decided to adopt discretion as the better part of valour and made my way back down.
