Lunchtime was spring warm, but not yet summer hot. However it was certainly warm enough to put a considerable amount of heat into the paving stones around the park.
As a result, this ant and some of its colleagues would dart out of the cool spaces between the stones, scurry across the surface of them for a moment or two, then disappear back into the cracks.
I'm actually quite impressed at the detail and sharpness that the Olympus's general purpose lens was able to capture here. Obviously, a macro lens on a larger body would do an infinitely better job but this isn't bad considering.
