... That a photographer in possession of a camera will be in want of good and interesting lighting effects only on the days that he has to go to work and doesn't have his camera and tripod available.
Two days before I shot this the full moon rose over the ocean just as the sun was setting behind the escarpment to my west. The dying light of the sun had cast a reddish glow over the band of sky just above the ocean and the moon loomed large behind it.
I, of course, was trapped inside a railway carriage at the time heading home after a long day of work so my chances of capturing that image were next to none. In fact, none at all. But Saturday came around as they always do and the moon was still relatively full.
However due to the progression of the earth and moon's
orbital paths there was to be no incandescent moonrise for me to shoot on the weekend. Instead, I had this feeble moon set over the trees to the west just as the sun was beginning to rise.
This is typical, for I have lost count of the number of times I have seen spectacular light as I have been walking to the station to catch the early morning train. Such light is well beyond the Olympus's power to capture, especially without the assistance of a tripod. But come the weekend, that light is nowhere to be seen.
So once again, I must simply make do with what I have.
