Welcome to the "evolved" way of working.

Nobody has their own desk, and therefore no personal effects on that desk. Nobody has their own chair, and therefore no chair adjusted to their tastes.

Nobody has their own drawers. They have a locker instead, about the size of an archive box, perhaps a bit smaller.

Everyone has to plug their notebook into the first desk that they find when they get in. If they find one since the idea is to allocate around 40 people into 30 desks.

And as you can see here, the environment of those desks can only be described as joyous and uplifting. And apropos of nothing, despite the well-known aphorism I happen to think that sarcasm rocks as a form of wit when done properly.
