There's the odd part of Wollongong that tends to be a bit Bohemian.

Well, a tad grungy with aspirations of being Bohemian anyway.

Down an alley and up a set of well worn stairs is a passageway. The passageway leads on one side to a large common room where arty types can get together to discuss artistic projects and at the end to an open space in which works can be exhibited. On this particular Saturday it was housing a photographic exhibition, which we went along to. As near as I could see the photos were all from aspiring professionals rather than actual professionals, and to some extent they remind me of PBase. There were some that made me go "meh". Some that made me go "That's not bad". Some that made me go "That's very good indeed". And the occasional one that made me go "Woah." All made me think a little bit about how they were done and why they were done.

As for this one? Well, it was getting late in the day and I didn't have a PAD, and I was getting closer to the point where I'd be doing one each day. But no, that wasn't it. "Urban harshness" is one of my "things", thank you Mr. Hopper, thank you Mr. Smart. When I looked out at the view from the top of the aforementioned stairs, I knew that (a) It was a shot that I needed to take and (b) Because I had only the Olympus and no time to spend an entire day watching how the light moved over this scene I still wasn't going to get quite THE shot that I wanted. But with each one I take, I probably get a little closer to it.
