I have to pick up the pace of posting my older PADs because this week I've been back to "almost every day" and want to try to get back to each and every day shortly. For my own future reference, this one is being posted on 6 September.
This is another weather themed shot, again more in the nature of a reminder of the time than any great piece of artistry. Obviously I do have an affinity for:
(a) Early mornings;
(b) Artificial light;
(c) Rain soaked pavements; and
(d) Places which more suggest people than show them
So in theory this ticked all of my boxes. Even the minor one about headlight blurs. And yet... no, I'm still not quite there, I haven't gotten the shot that I want yet.
Oddly enough the thing that I remember most about this particular morning was listening to the BBC World Service Newshour which was being re-broadcast through one of the local radio stations as I cruised along the coastal road looking for camera fodder. This was only a few days after the Boston bombing and they were playing interviews with some of the survivors. No idea why that particular fact stuck with me this many months after the shot was taken, but these are the kind of minor details that make a PAD (even one as underfed as mine) as much diary as photo project.
