Perhaps it would be fair to say "old but maintained". Yes, the station buildings are probably well into their second century as the architecture style and materials could attest. (The station opened in 1867 and while I can't be certain that these are the original buildings I doubt that they're far off being so.) Yet the buildings remain well painted in Federation-style colours. In line with the rest of Mittagong, "tidy and nostalgic" are the order of the day.
