Meanwhile, a few kilometres to the north of the Canterbury Road image that I took last night runs Parramatta Road. If Canterbury Road is reputed to be rough and low rent, it's idyllic compared to Parramatta Road (which was, before the construction of the Western Distributor and M4, the main westerly route out of the city) is reputed to be bone ugly.

But it did have a car yard with a good service centre at which I dropped my car for its first annual service this morning.

This was not of course ever going to be a truly great urban shot as all I had to hand was the crippled Olympus, but it gives a feel of the place. And, of course, it has a special guest appearance by my old friend the moon.

I note that last year I shot my 1,000 lire note to commemorate my 1000th posted shot. And yet... here we are a year later and I've yet to hit 1500.
