No, it's not a horrible exposure (though it's arguable that I should have tried to shorten it to try to sharpen the birds flying along the shoreline if nothing else); it's what it was actually like on the beach at that time with the view to the steel works partially obscured by the mist coming off the ocean, creating a very Turneresque effect. (The reflection of the flame in the damp sand on the water's edge being the finishing touch in that respect.)
