Bert Flugelman's corten steel work offers "endless space to explore, scribble and discover". While it's described as a "figurative abstraction", the title suggests that the shape was at least inspired by the eponymous fossils.
(That is, extinct, spiral-shelled molluscs (around 400 to 65 million years ago, give or take) which are found in many rock layers... and which of course were marine animals, making their representation in a Sculpture By The Sea exhibit appropriate. It doesn't get much more "by the sea" than this.)
