No great artistry in this shot but hey, it is what it is. In this case, a mock-up of the entrance to one of the underground coal mines that used to exist in these parts. It gives some idea of why the short stature of some of the Cornish and Welsh miners (discussed in image 13834) was an advantage, although this kind of physical work being carried out by someone barely larger than what would these days be the size of a young adolescent would have to have taken a fairly heavy toll as the years wore on.
