The Ted Noffs is one of two emergency response tugs operated by Sydney Ports, the other being the Shirley Smith. The Ted Noffs also appears in this gallery alongside the Volendam (image 4471), though she didn't seem to be having an emergency to respond to at the time.

On this day I initially saw Ted Noffs on the other side of Johnson Bay where she was just sitting there pumping out water. After a few minutes she headed up into White Bay, following which she powered up and came steaming back down, churning an impressive bow wave in front of her.
