It's probably a bit premature for me to be self-referential in my photographs, but what the hey it's my gallery and I can be self-referential if I want to, to slaughter an old song title.
The reference is to Wednesday Is The New Monday from way back on 27 January. In that one we see the stark lighting of an office desk, a water cup and a keyboard, awaiting the work of the day to begin.
In this case, Wednesday is the middle of the working week with two 11 hour days and one 10 hour day already behind me, and two more looming. (And you wonder why I'm sometimes a couple of days behind with my PAD postings?) The mornings have started too early, and the bed times have been too late. Consequently it's time to take some time out with a cup of cocoa (OK, I don't actually have any cocoa, it's drinking chocolate) and some quality bedside reading. Instead of the harsh fluorescent lighting of an office, here we see the warm lighting of a bedroom.
(Though I've found that while bedroom light can be warm in tone, it also runs the risk of making the images look radioactive. I've toned that back somewhat by bouncing a small Ikea spotlight off the ceiling and walls to even out the colour a bit, though the overall "warm" tone remains. And let me tell you that wasn't easy when I had to be holding the spotlight and the remote shutter release in one hand and the lens with the other, since the 24-105 has picked up a bad case of lens creep.)
