The genesis of the team "Asas de Portugal" goes back to 1976, the Asas were active for 13 years, and participated in all the big aeronautical festivals in Europe and Portugal. The team was deactivated in 1991 leaving an enormous legacy in the use of an acrobatic team as catalytic of aeronautical wills in the heart of the young, and as way of projecting the image of the Air Force and Portugal.

Because the Spirit never lands, Asas returned definitely on April 20th, 2005 giving this time to 103 Squadron the enormous responsability to represent at the highest level the Portuguese Air Force. They present a revolutionary project in the chosen flight concept (based in the purest perfection of formation flying), original in the image and creative in the communication concept. Asas de Portugal performs with two Alpha Jet's.
