Although Cherrywood is an actual place and featured here, for the purposes of this gallery, Cherrywood is a metaphor for the small rural town which is being encroached upon by the big city. Small rural communities which are primarily agricultural are being overrun by urban sprawl, real estate development, speculation and the like. Hi rise buildings, gas bars, Wal-Marts and other retail landmarks start to dot the landscape. The only hope I have is that some of these traditional towns can keep their character, charm and borders because city folks like me need to go there from time to time to regain our sanity and lower our blood pressure. This is very difficult to do in traffic jams or in mall parking lots. Featured here is rural living, farm country and a simpler way of life. Cherrywood is front and centre. Also included are the towns of Green River, Uxbridge, Port Perry and Whitevale. Hope you enjoy it.
