Vega is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra,
the fifth brightest star in the night sky and
the second brightest star in the northern celestial hemisphere.
With a distance of only 25 light-years from Earth, it is one of the closest stars to earth.
Eltanin us the brightest star (magnitude 2.4) in the constellation of Draco at magnitude,
outshining Rastaban by nearly half a magnitude.
Its proximity to the zenith point directly overhead of London has earned it the name "Zenith Star."
It is 154 light years away from earth.
In 1728, while unsuccessfully attempting to measure the parallax of this star,
James Bradley discovered the aberration of light resulting from the movement of the Earth.
Bradley's discovery confirmed Copernicus' theory that the Earth revolved around the Sun.
