I have to conclude that the 1927 Ensign All-Distance 6x9 Box Camera, gives a better result for portraits
and 'still life' at the 9 feet portrait setting, than when the lens is in the infinity setting for landscapes.
I guess that for an inexpensive box camera in 1927, with most images being obtained from direct
contact prints of the 6cmx9cm negative, inherent sharpness was not such a requirement in the
landscape, although it was preferred somewhat for the family portraits. There is, nevertheless,
a certain charm or patina with these images.
I felt that a presentation in the Pictorialism style was appropriate given the softness of the image.
