Tarantula

Austin, Texas

Due to personal reasons, I am taking a hiatus in photography and didn't actually use my gear while here in Texas until today when I noticed a tarantula in our frontyard. It certainly is hairy LOL. This image is not to get excited about but I figured, I am about ready to add another picture to this gallery anyway. I didn't have any macro gear at this location and had to squeek by with a short, 12mm extension tube on my favorite zoom lens, the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS Mark II.

As displayed here, this image is cropped from the full fram original. I would say I cropped away approximately half of the width of the cobble from all four sides. The length of the body part is 4-5cm.

Nice shot, saw some in Mexico, due to its size it was visible from afar on a country road.
