What can I say... I took significantly more graphic images at the market in Tomohon, Manado that I would rather not display here. Yes, it looks cruel and maybe even barbaric but keep in mind that the condition for unwanted pet dogs in developed countries is not much better than the situation in this part of the world, if that. In "more civilized" parts of the world, unwanted pet dogs are "destroyed" on a continuous basis. Who knows what they do with the remains. Here at least, we know that humans are being fed and judging by the number of stray dogs over there, it is not pushed to the brink of elimination. No, I didn't try any "rinti wuwu" (that's Manadonese and guess what that means) dish, not to make me feel better but... For your information, only in selected parts of Indonesia it is accepted to consume dog meat and Manado is one of them.
