A few sphinx were recently discovered and upon further excavation several hundreds of sphinx that lineup along an ancient walkway connecting Karnack with Luxor temples were found. The Egyptian government is in the process of reconstructing the long forgotten alley, dubbed the sphinx alley. For this project, numerous houses, a mosque, a church, a library, a police station and some other government building will have to be demolished and relocated. A huge project alright but upon completion, it would be spectacular and it would increase tourism more so. The completion of this project is anticipated in 2014.
