Chapel and Ka Punahou Pond

'Ka Punahou' means "new spring." The school was named
after the artesian well which still flows
in the center of the campus in the waterlily Pond.
The Punahou School Chapel was built, on the site of
the artesian well, on land gift to the missionaries
by Hawaiian Chiefs in the early 1800s.

Very interesting place. As someone in the construction business, that building has to be a nightmare to maintain.

It's an unusual and rather pleasant thing to see the pond against the building
