Frond, Frond, Frond

The staghorn fern, has two kinds of fronds
- the long fern leaf that produces spores for reproduction
- and the flat, sterile frond that begins as a soft whitish half circle.
As this flat frond grows and ages it changes to pale green and then brown.
Pictured are the bases of the fertile staghorn fronds and flat fronds in all three stages.
Taken with Nikon 135mm manual (E series) lens, which does not record the f-stop on the D50.
