02-AUG-2008 Pam Haley ~ FrogHouse Photo

Night Staghorn Fern

By way of explanation, no flash was used in this
8-second exposure. The light from the window to
my left was so dim that I needed a flashlight to set up the
tripod and focus the camera - a remote was used to trigger
the camera, after the flashlight was turned off.

Challenge: Low light

other sizes: small medium original auto

Pam, sorry, don't find anything to critique, this is lovely and one wouldn't know it was an 8 sec exposure.

It is certainly amazing how light and clear the image is, given that amount of darkness. An excellent exposure, Pam.

Great work Pam! DOF really does add an interesting 'touch' to this photo! Impressing what dim light from a window and 8s can do :o)

A very successful low-light shot of this interesting plant, sharp and clear. As Jeannie said, I wouldn't have guessed.:-)

Pam you captured that beautifully. I would have never guessed how dark that was.
