The Borders Rail Project
There is a new rail link underway (2012) that will link the borders to Edinburgh. From Tweedbank outside Galashiels to Edinburgh. There will be seven railway stations or stops along the way. This line replaces part of the old “Waverley” line which was axed by the infamous Dr Beeching in the late 1960’s.

I will add photos as the construction continues
The original Waverley line ran from Edinburgh to Carlisle. The new rail link is due to re-open in 2014, but 2015 is more realistic.
Preliminary work started in 2011 and progress should be underway in the coming months.
I want to take photographs of different parts of the new route under construction.
