Monterey Bay Aquarium Jelly Hall, a very cool part of the tour. You enter a dark hall with nothing but these aquariums along the walls, blue lit, featuring jellies drifting about. Someone quipped, "the guys shooting digital have the advantage in here". Damn straight: we just have to figure out how to config the camera to do the job. No flash allowed: it might freak the jellies.

I wasn't sure what they're policy on flash was prior to visiting the aquarium. After we got there, I saw that it was allowed in some places and not in others. I didn't even notice any no flash signs in the jellyfish gallery. Of course that made no difference to me, as I hadn't brought mine anyway. If I ever get a chance to revisit, I think that I'd like to experiment with flash at some of the exhibits where it's allowed. Do you plan to do that on your upcoming trip?
