He started out jumping at a sunflower 5' off the ground but he was behind a large bush. I could see parts of him flying up and down, and the flower stalk whipping back and forth. Then he moved into the clearing and began tossing this stick up and down, just goofing around with it. I was pretty sure it was a distraction. I failed to look in the dry creek bed below my hide out, or next to the hide out. I'll bet the female was looking in from a much closer spot than usual. Thanks for your comments..
Now this is interesting! It is odd to see him trying to carry the branch away. Maybe he had his pups close by and was trying to distract you. Either way, cool shot.
