Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir Fire - 20 Sept 07

The fire started around 5pm and they were still fighting it at 8pm.
I shot these from my side yard with a tripod.
The fire is about 2 miles away.

On Saturday, 22 Sept 07, I hiked up to the burned area and shot the
second group of pictures in the gallery. Most of the shots were taken
in the shade of the mountain between 7:15 and 8:45am.

I was gassed hiking up to the ridge line. I don't know how fire fighters
carrying gear manage when the air is filled with smoke. Most of this fire
appears to have been worked from the air. There was a narrow fire line cut
to the East, maybe 10' wide, no more than 3 or 4 trees cut and tossed
to the East side of the line in any given area.
