bycam888 Malaysia

Bycam claims to sell a 'Fuji remanufactured camera' but oh dear no they don't.
I wouldn't have minded some signs of wear and tear - I wasn't buying new after all.

But the camera arrived with significant damage (scrapes, an impact gouge and the end panel pulled away
and it was covered in dirty, sticky gum residue across the top and the front,
apparently from an old label where the adhesive had broken down.
The camera seemed to work but obviously it hadn't even been checked visually, never mind 'remanufacturered' or refurbished in any way or by any workshop!
It certainly had not been remanufacturered by Fuji as stated.
It was not in a 'refurb.' package either - all the bits were stuffed in an undersized box
and loosely wrapped in an inadequate piece of reused bubble wrap.

Now anyone can make a mistake of course and an item can go out unchecked, incomplete, whatever.
I've done it myself. And then I apologised, profusely and fixed the problem.
This dealer had a slightly different approach to a problem and to me.
Of course it had been checked before posting, they said, so I must be responsible.
It's my fault, they claimed. I did it, right?!
If not me then it must have been damaged in the post.
I presume that I must have taken it out, attached a strap, whacked it around a bit on the strap to cause that damage
scuffed the front up and just for good measure, smeared the front with gum residue from a sticky label or similar and then dirtied up the gum.
Goodness, I was busy.
The damage implies that it was hit very hard while on a strap, so that there is both an impact gouge and a panel pull.
The dirty gum is better evidence that the camera was sent out damaged and soiled - I could not have achieved that in less than a month, I think..

A trader's reputation depends, not on how they behave when things go well but on how well they deal with problems.
These people seem to have a good feedback record but they may insult you if things don't work out.
I would hate to try and make a claim under their three month warranty!
