With the threat of a hard winter, I chose to make the early walk of the year as a London Walk. Broadly following the line of the Underground's Circle Line, this walk is 17-18 miles long and was walked in two parts in late February and early March. It covers many of the different aspects of London from open spaces (Regent's Park, Pool of London, St James's, Green and Hyde Parks), close areas (the alleyways of the city, the mews of belgravia and kensington), new developments (Paddington Basin, the British Library and the Gherkin) and old (New River Head, Tower of London, the Monument, St Paul's Cathedral, Whitehall, the Royal Albert Hall). Great walking in a wonderful city.
