Omo Valley

The Omo Valley is located in Southwest Ethiopia, Africa. National Geographic magazine has called the region “Africa’s last frontier.” The Omo River, approximately 400 miles long, runs through the Omo Valley from north to south. It drains into Lake Turkana just inside the Kenyan border. There are nine main tribes that occupy the Omo Valley, with a population of approximately 225,000 tribal peoples. The Ancient Tribes that live in the Lower Omo Valley are believed to be the most unique tribal people in the world. They have become famous for their heritage and diversity.
