Jan 22 Chinese New Year's Eve

On this night, the legend goes, the monster Nian
goes around and swallows people.
The Chinese put these red poems around their door
to keep him away. (remind you of a story in Exodus 12?)
The next morning everyone congratulates their neighbor
(for not being eaten).
