Katmai bears 2011

During my last trip to Alaska, in july 2011, I spent 7 days in Katmai national park, Brooks camp area, to photography bears. I think I was not unlucky concerning the weather with 1/3 rain, 1/3 cloudy and 1/3 sun with 3 gorgeous late afternoon light at the falls.
This year the salmon run was very low in july (normally the peak season). Bears were in number, everywhere, but it was a pity sometimes to watch them during hours at Brooks falls without any attempt to catch fish. Fortunately at other times they managed to succesfully fish on the few wandering salmons . Nevertheless it was an unforgetable experience. The only negative point was that Brooks camp is really crowded in july with waiting list every day at the falls Platform.
