Magyarország 2007 december 20-a éjjelén csatlakozott az EU schengeni határmentes övezetéhez – ezzel megszűnt a határellenőrzés Magyarország és Ausztria között is. Ebből az alkalomból mintegy tucatnyi civil és határőr ünnepelt a bucsui osztrák-magyar határon.

The celebration at the Bucsu state border on 20 December marked the accession of Hungary to the EU's Schengen borderless zone. A dozen civilians and border guards celebrated the abolishment of border control between Hungary and Austria.

I have heard another part of Europe somewhere between Switzerland and another country they will also have open border. This is great European to travel anywhere in EU without stopping. I remembered few years back crossing between France and Germany with tight border control then in 90's it stopped.
