"Cockling" on the Ria at low tide. These ladies, some of them quite elderly, spend hours every day in this position (bent from the waist down) using a triangular-shaped scraper to remove the bivalves from just beneath the surface of the sand. The cockles are put into a traditional wicker basket with handle.
