We went to Italy in September 2017 beginning in Venice and ending in Venice. We stayed in Venice for one night. After a morning of sightseeing we took the train to Florence and stayed at a great apartment for 4 nights. It was not far from the great attractions of the city where the Renaissance began and from the convention center where Mary attended a meeting of the International Continence Society. After 4 nights in Florence we rented a car and drove to a wonderful agriturismo which featured the amazing Brunello wine. It is near Montalcino in Tuscany. We were there for 5 nights. We explored some nearby Tuscan scenery and visited the hilltop town of Pienza where we were treated to a parade and a flag throwing demonstration as well as the beautiful countryside on the way. Then we went to the Cinque Terre where we stayed at a fantastic Bed & Breakfast in Monterosso for 4 nights. Finally we went back to Venice for 2 nights and got to see more of that water wonderland.
