This partially restored castle sits on a mountaintop in the Vosges Mountains just West of Eguisheim. To get there you hike or you drive about 5 kilometers through a dense forest on a narrow dirt road. It's worth it. We got there on a very hot, humid and hazy day so we couldn't see the Black Forest to the East but we got to see the nearby villages including Eguisheim, the vineyards, mountains and the town of Colmar which is just North of Eguisheim.
