It's hard to describe just how huge the buildings which housed the German submarines are. The construction of them was, by our modern standards, both thorough and rapid. We took a guided tour around the site, lead by a very enthusiastic student guide, who unfortunately only had one pace...fast!! It was difficult to both stop to take photographs and keep up to hear all the information she was giving. For that reason I am not putting much description on the photographs for fear that I miss-heard.

Doubtless we shall go again and I will update then. It was a long, steep climb to the top of K1 but the view from the roof was superb!

The Submarine shown is French 1960's construction.

Large parts of the buildings are now occupied by various businesses, the prime one being a large Yacht manufacturer, building extremely large Catamarans.
