Hi Allan,
I'm a little late at seeing your reply about shutterfreaks :)
Are you still part of that group? I'm on it now and see some people I have seen on other sites, but dont see you listed.
BTW, we went to the Revolutionary War Reinactment at Clinton Mill 2 weekends ago. It was a beautiful day. I had never been inside the mill grounds before, so it was very interesting. We walked into the Mill store and I'm sure you can guess what we saw :)
Lucky you to have a couple of your images on sale by the Mill itself. I was there from 6am until after dinner. We usually park our RV on the road that leads to the mill and just hang out in Clinton for the day. Just bought my first DSLR, it arrived today so guess I should go back for pics with the new camera :)

Thanks again Ruth. I printed this shot at 12x18, mounted on foam core & matted, and it looks fantastic. The light on the mill is very difficult, since it never really gets the full sun, so your probably seeing some noise in the shadows.

I've got 10/19 on my calendar. Gotta get back to the finger lakes too, went to school in Ithaca, and haven't been back in too many years. My pbase collection goes back 3+ years -- the oldest (in "Old Favorites") were with the Sony F505V. I moved to a D30 about 2+ years ago, and to the 10D last April.

Stop in at www.ShutterFreaks.com sometime, you'll like the friendly atmosphere.

You were lucky with that cloud opening up. Almost looks like morning light. Wish mine turned out that good. Even when I used a tripod and filter the sky seemed to be blown out. When I was there last month, I also had trouble with the mill looking a little grainy. Not sure why that was happening. Ha.. Oct 19th was when we were at the Shawnee Balloon festival and leaving to come back from our trip to the Finger Lakes At the time I didnt even know this mill existed. Wish I had because I would have made this trip on the way back. By the time I got there most of the color was gone in Nov.
Do you used your Canon EOS 10D for all your shot here on Pbase?

Thanks Ruth. This shot was taken at about 1PM on October 19, 2003 -- a mostly cloudy day, but I was extraordinarily lucky to be there when a small hole opened in the clouds to provide some incredible light.

With each of your photos I look at, they keep amaizing me more :)
What time of day did you take the beauty? in the morn or afternoon?

The sky.. the colors.. and how the lighting just hits the mill to light it up.
WOWOW love it
