Numa passagem por Paris, minha filha Eduarda, propôs uma visita à Estrasburgo e Colmar, ambas no coração da Alsácia, no leste da França. Essa região, por estar próxima da Alemanha, tem grande influência nos costumes, língua e construções. Possui várias instituições europeias como o Parlamento da Comunidade Europeia. É uma cidade que data da época da dominação romana (primeiro século). Uma das grandes atrações de Strasbourg é sua catedral gótica Notre Dame, uma construção particular tendo como elemento principal a alta torre (entre as mais altas) feita com pedras avermelhadas. Os prédios em volta da igreja são também típicos da região. Outra área interessante é a Petite France, região da cidade onde outrora havia moinhos a água. Cidade prazerosa de ser visitada, de fácil acesso; 2 horas de TGV a partir de Paris.

During our stay in Paris, my daughter Eduarda proposed visiting Strasbourg and Colmar, both in the heart of Alsace, east of France. This region, very close to Germany, has an immense German influence on the costumes, language and constructions. Strasbourg is one of the capitals of the European Community. The European Parliament is located in this town. The foundation of Strasbourg has origin on the Roman domination period, on the 1st century BC. The main attraction of Strasbourg is the gothic Notre Dame Cathedral with a very high tower (among the tallest) built with a type of red bricks, quite particular. Another hot point of the town is the Petite France, with beautiful constructions and where there were several water mills. A pleasant city, to be visited. Strasbourg can be easily reached from Paris by a 2 hours TGV trip.
