The mountain region near Florianópolis (Serra Catarinense, see the map, second picture of the folder) has several interesting small towns, roads, houses, churchs and curiosities.
It has been one of our favorite places to take a drive and .... photographs (some locations are already subjects of other folders).
During the period 2016-2018 we visited this area several times. For not leaving the photos hidden and forgotten in my HD, I selected some of them and they are here presented.
The photos are simple and the main purpose here is to show the region, whose beauty and charm can be hardly expressed by photographs.
The majority of pictures were taken in the Rancho Queimado area (including Taquaras, Mato Francês, Alfredo Wagner, Anitápolis and São Bonifácio; see map).
São Pedro de Alcântara - a relatively small town nowadays - was the first German colonization in the Santa Catarina state and its church is the main attraction of the city.
At the end (the folder has about 200 pictures) there are some pictures of my friends.
