Revisiting São Miguel das Misssões in a Rainy Day; Some Pictures Taken on the Road to São Miguel (Oct. 2017)

This historical place was already visited in July 2011. Then, in 2017 we decided to go there once again. The first visit is available in another folder. I noticed that the photos (2011 and 2017) are quite similar but, here they were pictured in a rainy day. São Miguel das Missões is a historical site in Rio Grande do Sul. Its construction started in about 1630 (with the church São Miguel Arcanjo) by the jesuit order and the native Guarani indiens. It is part of seven 'missões' spread in the surroundings including the neighbor countries Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. It is considered as a UNESCO monument. These communities were prosperous and rich: Indiens and jesuits produced aliments and several goods (selling them to larger towns as Buenos Aires, for instance). Portugal and Spain colonizators became jelous; they were not so competent to achieve the same level of economical development. Somehow, they found reasons to fight against the 'missões' and, cowardly, they killed the indiens. It happened in 1745.
I took my pictures with a Panasonic GH4 and the most of them with the Panasonic 12-35mm/2.8 and 14-140mm/3.5-5.6 lenses.
