In 2003, I went to a scientific conference in Portugal, held at Vilamoura, Algarve in the south coast. Arriving in Lisbon, we spent the weekend before the event, visiting the town and, particularly, walking on the streets. One of the mots interesting attractions is the elevator 'Elevador de Santa Justa', from where I took several pictures.
Lisbon is plenty of hystory and is strongly related to the brazilian colonization and past. In 1807, Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Portugal and the whole royal court moved to Brazil. If Brazil, until that date, was a remote and misregarded colony, with the king Dom João VI living in Rio, Brazil became a more developed colony and, as consequency, the independency was declared in 1822.
For our photographic interest, I walked a lot on Lisbon streets with a Canon EOS 100 (Elan in the USA) with the lenses EF 24-85/3.5-4.5 and the 70-210/3.5-4.5. I also had a Canon EF 35/2 for low light pictures. I used Kodak and Fuji color films. The negatives were scanned with my NikonCoolscan V (LS-50).
