Paris; Bateau Mouche, Musée d'Orsay and Canal Saint-Martin (2025)

English:
In this gallery there are photos of Paris divided into three subjects. The first is related to a promenade on a boat (called "bateau mouche"), which is very traditional among tourists and locals. The trajet starts at Pont d'Iena up to the Pont de Sully. The pictures taken are indeed different compared to photos at street level. It is relatively short and inexpensive. The second theme is the Musee d'Orsay, whose main subject is the impressionist movement. This museum was created upon a desactivate train station of Paris, by the Seine river. Its construction was well adapted to a museum since its large internal space, open to trains, has plenty of light, welcome to the paintings and statues. Some photos show the immense flux of people, even in February. Finally, the third topic is related to the Canal Saint-Martin, already shown in other galleries of my site. This channel starts at Bastille and follows, immersed, the boulevards Richard Lenoir and Jules Ferry. It emerges at Quai de Valmy where the channel itself can be seen, proposing typical sceneries where boats (the "péniches") connect the Seine river. We were lucky since we were able to follow a péniche using the "écluses" (locks) to overpass the water unevenness. We had lunch in a very typical restaurant called "Au fil du vin", quite simple but with excellent French food. Canal Saint-Martin is a place well appreciated by French and, of course, tourists. In warmer seasons, picnics by the banks of the channel are common. It is a place - fortunately out of the majority of tourist guides - to be visited in Paris.
