Comparando com - por exemplo - à Avenida Champs Élysées, o 20th bairro (arrondissement) de Paris, é praticamente desconhecido. Felizmente. Deixemos essa avenida para a multidão de turistas-padrão e visitemos locais menos concorridos mas, certamente, não menos interessantes. O 20ème é um arrondissement onde há forte imigração e com o preço do metro quadrado relativamente baixo para o padrão da cidade. O local é muito animado, com feiras e comércio intenso. Há muitos bares - como em toda a cidade - e ruas discretas. Muitos restaurantes oferecem comida de diferentes partes do mundo. Mas há uma grande atração neste arrondissement, internacionalmente conhecida: o cemitério Père Lachaise, bastante frequentado pelos franceses e turistas que desejam visitar túmulos de personalidades de grande reconhecimento. Entre eles, citemos Balzac, Jim Morrison, Yves Montant, Victor Hugo, Chopin, Édith Piaf, Allan Kardec, Corot, Camille Pissarro, Gilbert Bécaud e tantos outros. Pessoalmente, me interessei principalmente pela atmosfera deste local. Dentro das limitações de tempo, o objetivo principal é mostrar, de forma documental, um pouco deste arrondissement. Meu amigo Fahd Sultanem me acompanhou, mas estranhou meu interesse por este local. Abaixo duas canções referentes au 20ème:

Comparing with - for instance - the Champs Élysées avenue, the 20ème arrondissement is, practically, unknown. Great! Let us leave that avenue for the standard tourist and let us walk on this interesting and discreet 20ème. This arrondissement has a strong immigration and certainly it is relatively inexpensive - for the city - to live in. It is a vivid place with street markets and intense commerce. There are many bars and restaurants with a large variety of typical food from many places of the world. The streets are nice, simple and inviting. However, there is an international attraction in the 20ème: the Cemetery Père Lachaise. Frequently, french and foreign people visit it since many well known personalities are buried in this cemetery as Balzac, Jim Morrison, Yves Montant, Victor Hugo, Chopin, Édith Piaf, Allan Kardec, Corot, Camille Pissarro, Gilbert Bécaud and many others. Personally, I prefered to photograph the whole atmosphere of this particular place. Considering my time limits, the main goal is to present, in a documental way, some few impressions of the 20ème. My friend Fahd Sultanem came along, but he was surprised by my interest on this place. Below, two songs related to the 20ème:
