Ouro Preto - Minas Gerais State; Historical City

Ouro Preto is fantastic place to visit and photograph. Everytime I have the change to go there, I do it. I've been there at least six times, from 1986 to 2012. To describe it better than I could do, below there is short text found in the web:
'Founded at the end of the 17th century, Ouro Preto (meaning Black Gold) was originally called Vila Rica, or "rich village", the focal point of the gold rush and Brazil's golden age in the 18th century under Portuguese rule. The city centre contains well-preserved Portuguese colonial architecture, with few signs of modern urban development. Any new constructions are required to be in keeping with the city's historical aesthetic. 18th- and 19th-century churches decorated with gold and the sculptured works of Aleijadinho make Ouro Preto a prime tourist destination. The tremendous wealth from gold mining in the 18th century created a city which attracted the intelligentsia of Europe. Philosophy and art flourished, and evidence of a baroque revival called the "Barroco Mineiro" is illustrated in architecture as well as by sculptors such as Aleijadinho, painters such as Mestre Athayde, composers such as Lobo de Mesquita, and poets such as Tomás António Gonzaga. At that time, Vila Rica was the largest city in Brazil, with 100,000 inhabitants.
In 1789, Ouro Preto became the birthplace of the Inconfidência Mineira, a failed attempt to gain independence from Portugal. The leading figure, Tiradentes, was hanged as a threat to any future revolutionaries.
Ouro Preto was capital of Minas Gerais from 1720 until 1897, when the needs of government outgrew this town in the valley. The state government was moved to the new, planned city of Belo Horizonte'.

My favorite pictures of Ouro Preto are BW photos taken in 1996 with the classical Canon F1 with Kodak Tmax 400 film and Canon FD lenses 28/2.8, 35/2.8, 50/1.8, 85/1.8 and 135/3.5 (unless differently indicated). Then, I included some other pictures from a 2011 trip with my daugthers and from a 2012 tour with my friends of our group F8 (one of my last analog Olympus equipment use). In the final part of the folder, there are some color prints that, I recognize, are not well reproduced. They come from prints. However, I decided to insert them since Ouro Preto is also a vivid experience and the goal here is to give a color impression of this colonial city. As usual, for old pictures, I used a Nikon D90 to photograph the prints.
