Na volta da viagem para o Japão, fiz uma parada em Nova Iorque (NY) para evitar dois voos longos sem descanso. Assim, tive um dia livre em NY para passear e fotografar. É pouco tempo, mas foi possivel dar uma volta pela região próxima à rua 51 leste, local do meu hotel. Fui em direção ao Central Park e constatei que há alguns arranhas céus relativamente novos e muito altos. É uma cidade que, apesar de pouco espaço livre na sua área central, continua se desenvolvendo no aspecto relacionado a novas construções. Arranhas céus impressionantes fazem parte de uma das características marcantes da cidade desde o início do Século 20. Dia quente, com muito turismo e, portanto, não muito agradável. No entanto, ficam aqui alguns registros de médio interesse mas que mostram a dinâmica típica de NY no seu urbanismo e nas suas cenas de rua.

When coming back from Japan, I had a short stop in New York (NY) in order to avoid two long subsequent flights. Therefore, I had a full day to walk and take photos in NY. It is not much time, but it was possible to visit some places near 51st East street, the place of my hotel. I walked in the direction of Central Park and I noticed that there are relatively new skyscrapers. NY is a town that, in spite of little free space on its central part, has a continuing development in terms of new constructions. Impressive skyscrapers have been characteristic of this town since the beginning of the 20th Century. It was a hot day, with (too) many people on the streets and, thus, not so pleasant. Nevertheless, some photos of average interest are presented here to show the dynamism of the town with its typical urbanism and street scenes.
