In this folder there are pictures from the northwest region in France. My colleague Bernard Dumont, who worked in my laboratory, and his wife, Therèze, have a nice house in Lombron, near Le Mans in the Sarthe department. Often, they invited the foreign students of our lab for spending weekends at their place. I am deeply grateful for their kindness and I am sure that several other colleagues feel the same. We would hardly get close to french culture without their help. And having the chance of visiting a small typical french village was also great. The good wine and delicious food prepared by Therèze should not be forgotten. Similarly, my colleague Rik Bleijs and his wife Anne invited me to their secondary house in the small town Bully, in Haute Normandie (around 1982). The Mont Saint Michel is an international attraction in Normandie and Saint Malo, in Bretagne, is also a nice place. In that time I was using my Olympus OM2n equipment and the photos here are directly obtained from by BW prints taken with a Nikon D90.
