New Orleans, Memphis... looking for good music and using the BW Agfa Scala (2000)

Esse conjunto de fotos é relativo a fotografias feitas com o filme bastante particular de slide PB (Agfa, Scala). Temos aqui fotos de uma viagem para o sul dos EUA em dezembro de 2000. Partimos de Akron, Ohio, onde morava na época, e nos dirigimos para os estados do sul. Fizemos a viagem com uma velha van Ford (que comprei por 950 dólares...) que nos serviu em muitas viagens longas. O objetivo, além de passear com a família, era o de visitar 3 cidades emblemáticas para a cultura musical desse país: Nashville (berço do country), Memphis (origem do blues) e New Orleans (jazz). Lamentavelmente não há fotos de Nashville (elas foram tiradas com outro tipo de filme). Passamos também por Nova Iorque, Washington, DC e outras locais menores. Aproveitei para fazer algumas fotos nas estradas dos estados do sul (principalmente Tennessee, Louisiana) que são - relativamente - pobres. Na época me lembro de ter utilizado uma Canon EOS 100, as lentes Canon 24-85mm/3.5-4.5, 35mm F/2 e 75-300mm/4.5-5.6. Os slides forma macro-fotografados com a minha OLympus e-M1 Mk2 and a lente Zuiko 35mm/3.5.

In this gallery there are photos taken with the quite particular BW slide film Agfa Scala. The pictures are related to a December 2000 trip towards the south of the USA; at the time I was living in Akron, Ohio. We drove an old Ford van (bought for 950 dollars!!); very reliable, we also used this car for other long trips in the USA. The goal, besides appreciating the scenery, was to visit 3 emblematic cities for the American musical culture: Nashville (country music), Memphis (blues) and New Orleans (jazz). Unfortunately, there are no pictures of Nashville (I used another type of film for it). We passed by New York, Washington, DC and many other small cities. I photographed some places on the roads of the southern states (mainly Tennessee and Louisiana), which are relatively poor. I basically used a Canon EOS 100 and the lenses Canon 24-85mm/3.5-4.5, 35mm/2 and the 75-300mm/4.5-5.6. The slides were photographed with my Olympus E-M1 Mk2 and the Zuiko 35mm/3.5.
